What should you do about a body odor problem
Answers:
Answer
What most people do not know about body odor: in many cases the reeking has nothing to do with personal hygiene, neither with the daily washing routines nor with the usage of soap or deodorants. As a matter of fact there are lots of people, suffering from a commonly unknown disorder called bromhidrosis, a innocuous but distracting illness which causes a permanent and penetrative smell of sweat. The main cause of bromhidrosis is the bacterial flora of the skin. From this it follows that the main symptom of bromhidrosis is uncontrolled growth of special dermal bacteria. These bacteria assimilate the sweat on the skin, creating by-products like butanoic acid and formic acid which we recognize as the typical 'smell of sweat'.Answer

This is a condition (many people deal with this) that can be treated by your doctor. It's generally related to the chemistry in your body and sometimes by changing your diet can help, but visit your doctor and they can give you medications for this problem. I'm generally not the type that believes when someone has a problem to 'pill pop' but I do understand your problem and this can be very embarrassing for you.I use to work with a young man who had the same problem. I finally had a chat with him and this fellow was squeaky clean and it was certainly not caused by poor hygiene. The company we worked for required the men to wear short sleeved dress shirts during the summer and I asked this young man if it had a synthetic fiber in it such as rayon. I looked at the tag and sure enough it was. People with perspiration problems shouldn't wear synthetic clothing. 100% cotton is a must because it breaths! I know it's difficult to find and obviously you aren't going to get this in most men's slacks, but jeans are OK (not too tight though.) Wear cotton underwear, cotton T-shirts (outerwear) and cotton socks and NO SYNTHETICS!
Drinking at least 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water a day is a must too and more if you are working out. If the weather gets hot, then drink that water!

An alternative solution for under-arm odor is bleach. Years ago I heard that bleach eliminated odors from dirty shirts, so I asked my doctor if it would work on body odor. He checked the available health literature and found NO reasons not to try it, carefully. That was 1996; it's been working for me without any problem since then.Use a highly diluted solution (of water/bleach in a ratio of 20-to-1) from the common bleach available at grocery stores. Apply directly to the specific area, rub it in, leave it in place for just 10 seconds and then rinse the area with water profusely. After that you can use regular soap to wash away the bleach residue. Just kills the bacteria.
Depending on how nervous (or perspiry) you are, the deodorant effect lasts 1 to 3 days. If skin irritation or unusual headaches occur, cease use immediately.

Try putting baby powder, or talc, under your arms. This will keep you smelling fresh and will also keep you from sweating excessively. It may not be as effective as deodorant so you should probably carry some with you in case you have to add some more during the day.You should also discuss with your doctor various issues about your health, and this is because excessive sweating can have serious and severe underlying causes that may even actually require antibiotics or surgery.
Drysol, which is aluminum chloride, and when you apply it to the skin it works by shrinking the sweat glands. However you need to remember that it is a prescription medication and so it can only be used with a doctor's guidance.
Even doing subtler things such as changing the foods that you include in your diet and getting more exercise can go towards helping you stop body odor.
