What does the study of literature mean to you

Answers:
Literature to me, is the study of the human language. It is learning the grammar rules and the importance of forming a common foundation on speaking and writing so that we may have the ability to communicate with others.

For me literature is not the study of grammer, but of the ideas, and themes within the literature. Literature opens up parts of people's minds, and allows people to connect by sharing thoughts. You can't just look at the letters on the page and how they are arranged, but at what thoughts they convey.
