What do you do when you tell a girl that you love her and she just says to you that she is sorry for ruining your life

Possibilities: She's sorry because...- a relationship with her will/would harm you. (You're married, or she's got serious problems (you don't know about),....If she does have serious issues in her life, they're probably very private to her. Unless you're very serious about her, you should let it go at that. If you ARE serious and manage her to confide in you, and then STILL care for her, do tell her.
- she just has VERY low self-esteem and thinks you could do far better than her. Build up her self-esteem. A constant and exclusive show of affection for HER should do.
- Most likely however, you've made a very sincere and intense love profession, and she's saying you don't stand a chance, and that she's sorry for you. She might be mistaken, especially if you've made a wrong impression on her, but chances are VERY low. Realize that you can't be happy with someone who doesn't love you. And she doesn't consider you even as a possibility.

I think both of those answers could be right. But she might also just have low self confidence in herself and think that you could do better than her. If I were you I would ask her why she would be ruining your life, if you're perfectly fine with being in love with her. (Unless you aren't okay with being in love with her).
She also might be saying that she doesn't love you yet.
[Comment: No way. You don't tell some eventually possible future partner you're sorry for ruining his life. Not unless worldly ruin has or will happen to him because of you. ]
And that she feels bad because she can't tell you she loves you yet. Don't get discouraged. Just act normal around her, and hopefully she'll open up to you more about what's going through her head at this time. Also try and act a little more compassionate or open to her expressing herself, this might make her feel more comfortable with talking to you about how she feels.

sounds like typical low self-esteem to me, it's almost exactly how i used to respond to my boyfriend. But he just kept showing me that he genuinely cared for me, and the fact he could even be seen with me around his friends was such a surprise to me, I'm starting to believe I'm not so awful after all...
