How do you find your alien registration number
Answers:
An Alien Registration Number (A-Number) or Admission Number, is issued to the International Students. You can find it on your I-20 form, below the Date of Birth field.
Your best and probably also fail-proof bet in either acquiring or finding out your Alien Registration Number (A number) is to contact your local USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) office. You can call them, e-mail them or even walk in (if you're willing to stand in lines) and ask all kinds of questions. They will guide you in the right direction.
Once you apply for an EAD card (employment authorization card) as an international student you will get the A#. The number will appear on the EAD card.
There are other cases in which you get an A#, for example when you get an H1B Visa.
Clarification:
International students in the U.S. are in the category of non-immigrant. Don't think non-immigrants get A #'s, unless as mentioned above you get approved to work in the U.S. as part of college practical work in your field of study or possibly because of financial hardship.
